Zoe Wang's "Near Dawn" was a haunting, unexpected delight. I didn't know what to expect going into it, and quickly became engrossed in the overlapping, time-leaping narratives of the narrator (played with facile skill by Chengqi Wang). The spare set and playful, creative use of light and sound helped immerse us into the narrator's experience - to sense and feel the passing of time. It complemented the story well - evocative of another time and place and culture. I felt I learned something about ...

First of all let me say I am not a fan of musical theater, but I really enjoyed this original musical comedy. The cast is wonderful and come from the world of opera. I found the music catchy and the choreography sexy and funny. The direction of each of the 11 cast members made the world of the Wild West come alive. It was a fun evening and the audience really responded to the energy of the cast— they made it look fun. Highly recommend!...

Oracles and Miracles offers a bittersweet insight into a fundamental faultline in the New Zealand psyche – the “tall poppy syndrome” - and it’s effect on two sisters growing up in depression-era Christchurch (a regional city in the South Island of New Zealand). The play follows two working-class sisters, nicknamed Ginnie and Fag, from their early childhood in the depression through to motherhood in the baby boom of the early fifties.
We journey with them and discover how each sister’s response t...

OMG, this woman is so talented I can hardly stand it. I laughed so much during her show I had tears in my eyes. She is a master at making her characters both pedestrian and yet authentically relatable all at the same time. You don't have to be from Missouri to see the poignancy in her humor. She finds that gooey nougat center of comedy that is the foundation for life and rolls it up into one yummy treat for the audience. ...
