Dagmar Stansova knocked it out of the park. I laughed and danced in my seat. I wept. Dagmar is masterful. Her stage presence is magnetic, accessible, and richly textured. Her story, a combo of how one finds oneself/who one is/how one becomes who one is + who the child is/who the parent is/what they are together + the Holocaust + what/who one loves in one's life + who came before us + who we will become + James Brown--just to try to abstract it--shone light into corners of darkness. Her insights a...

While the title of the show is provocative, "Naked Man Rising" is not exploitative. This is a powerful show about passion, disability, and primal instincts, told by a very engaging actor with strong storytelling skills and fearlessness....

Joe Orton's play was hysterical. I laughed my ass off at its sexy absurdities.
I am also seeing the Pinter play and Haddon Park, tomorrow. Thanks for programming some queer gems for Pride Month. This is the 50th Anniversary of the first salvo of the Gay revolution, when drag queens fought the police, rioting against the brutality of the NYPD at the Stonewall Inn, a mafia-run gay bar, Manhattan....

Everything about this play is amazing. The play, written in the style of film noir, takes an unexpected but charming twist at the end. The actors brought the characters to life with such finesse that we barely noticed them making scene changes. The acting was spot on. They wrapped you up in the story and made you forget you were in a small, packed theater watching a play. I expect to see these young actors and the writer/director excel in their careers. They are off to a great start!...

The show is tender and funny--the two main characters are given time to speak with one another. Even with the modest running time, the show has enough breath in its narrative power to have two well meaning adults having reasonable discussions with one another.
I've seen lots of stories involving a monster or horrible person. It's harder to depict two good people, who just are in each others life at slightly the wrong time....

A witty, sincere and unflinching look at a painful subject we all have dealt with - in one way or another - but seldom talk about. Writer / performer Heather Dowling bravely mines material from her own experience and creates an intimate, funny, fly-on-the-wall experience like no other. Never dipping into sentimentality or self pity, even when she would have every right to. Highly recommended. ...

Raven Kras has woven theatre, dance, poetry, visual images, and music into an integrated piece which dramatizes a problem in our world - threats to freedom of expression and particularly to a free press.
