This is a show about love, pure and simple. As such, it is truly inspirational. If only we could all have such a deep and abiding love as the 2 principals Mimi and Mara have now shared for decades! Wouldn't the world be a better place then??? It is their story, and they bravely share it with the world, including cis-gender heterosexual peeps like me. It's funny and serious and everything in between. ...

I only wish I had bought my ticket online before sales closed instead of paying cash at the door, so I could be listed as a "certified reviewer." ...

Full writeup at https://cahighways.org/wordpress/?p=15390
Johnny ’81 was 90 minutes of storyteller John Gonzales (FB) telling a series of stories about his 12 year-old self growing up in West Hollywood, and the characters that inhabited his neighborhood and whose paths intersected with his life. That’s it. No more, no less. They showed a kid who was forced to grow up sooner perhaps than he should, but one where a wide variety of people demonstrated that they cared about him. It was proof about...

Wonderful entertainment. The Attic Collective LA entertained the audience on the sidewalk before we walked into the theater. The entertainment continued inside the studio with song before the play began. Set design, costume, music, polished acting and a sense of real friendship between the actors was very evident and made the experience very believable for the audience. The Director, Rosie ... well ... she's a theatrical genius! ...
