Johnny '81 - Boyhood Tales from West Hollywood

Yea... I was there, and this cat brought me back to that threshold of time/space in my... youth. Gonzales does make it all seem just like yesterday except his ride was a lot rougher and a great deal less just, than mine. And he made it to tell this truly, L.A. story. I was honored to be planted there, Father's Day 2019! Peace & performance, Esquizito https://www.hollywoodfringe.org/projects/6129... full review

BIRTHDAY

I really enjoyed Michael David Kers performance in “Birthday” last night. I found everything about it honest, unique and inspirational. (Sadly a rare experience these days.) A bit of an emotional roller coaster, you are drawn in immediately and engaged fully throughout. Beautifully crafted, it is raw, self deprecating, and fluid. Mr. is a talent with an empowering vehicle.... full review

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have their next BFF right here! Lindsay is beyond talented at bringing to life fun, stylized and vulnerable characters, even through the stereotypes. The show is sketch vignette style and Lindsay executed every single scene in a way that just makes you want more. More of her. More of the characters. ... full review

Yes. No. Maybe.

In a premise that could have easily veered into too broad cliché, Suttle delivers a compelling, nuanced ethical quandary of a play, one where the cold, uncaring demands of capitalism seemingly demand a total surrender of personal comfort and integrity. The script shines in finding tortured empathy in each of its characters, smartly avoiding the impulse to make its indie producer power player a sinister figure or the central couple members of the Hollywood exploited. Every member of the four-perso... full review

Spent three hours driving today to see a one hour play and I don’t regret one second spent on the freeway. This play was fantastic… Smartly written and incredibly well acted by four young up-and-coming actors. This was a tough play, lots of dialogue that could’ve been tripped up if all four weren’t on their game. My only regret is there’s just three more nights not enough time to get all my friends in to LA to see it. This play needs to be picked up...and this writer and actors need to be watched... full review

This was a delightful experience, from pre-show to the final moment.
