GEORGE.

George. takes us on a insightful journey of the many hoops Mr. Lucas force jumped his way through in order to bring our favorite wars among the stars to screen, big and small. Although, I am more a fan of Star Wars than any other Lucas film, I found myself increasingly engaged in the story as the play progressed through his early directing years leading up to Star Wars. ... full review

Leaving Prince Charming

I'm new to one person shows, so with each new one I'm never sure what to expect. This one really snuck up on me. The playful nature of her loss of innocence makes each misstep, each level deeper she falls hurt that much more. When you get right down to it the story is dark, deep, and painful. I had thought that it was done in such a fanciful and playful manner to make the punch feel harder, but it's not. It's a defiance. A triumph and a guide for those who might have gone through something si... full review

Johnny '81 - Boyhood Tales from West Hollywood

This is a rock solid piece of work. I so thoroughly enjoyed this story telling memoir. The picture he paints is so well considered, so well paced, and so carefully put together that while it's almost certainly a thrill for people who were alive and there at the time to remember the time and the places, but as someone who lived that time in a marshmallow suburb without the outsized characters that band together to protect themselves from each other and the outside world it was just as vivid and en... full review

Aristophanes' The Birds

It's perhaps important to remember that at every stage of the development of the idea of democracy there has been cautions regarding the potential pitfalls inherent in the system that can't necessarily be baked out of the system and fall on the participants to guard against. The production approaches Aristophanes The Birds with that premise, roughly paraphrased from the notes in the program. What that entails is the basic story of The Birds, who set up their own utopia between the earth an... full review

This is my first of 6 shows I will be seeing this season of Fringe and I must say it was good choice to start with! I recommend to check it out. I found it be more intricate than it initially seemed, as the merger into the second act clears up a lot of stuff and you start making connections. I love anything 90's so seeing all of the references was a treat for me. It was fun to see each character show out their personality and how each one was distinct from the others. The entire cast was fantasti... full review

Tattered Capes

When you see a show from Theatre Unleashed, you can count on solid script, smart directing, and elevated set/costume/props design. What surprised me about their newest show was the level of thought put into the complex and layered storytelling - a lot of this is attributed to Greg Crafts' excellent script, but you see it in directing and acting choices too. Seeing a TU show is always a good bet, but TATTERED CAPES impresses across the board.... full review

A true-to-life story of a true love between two souls--no matter their physical manifestation. I was entranced with this story. More spoken word, or creative nonfiction memoir than a play, these two women take you deeply inside their lives and their beautiful and supportive love. I left the theatre thinking LOVE IS LOVE--and isn't it always a miracle. I am SO happy I saw this!... full review

Monkey Mind reminds us to live in the NOW--and what power and happiness and calmness that decision means. Weiss delivers a personal philosophy that has been her mantra in a spirit-driven musical in an imaginative and engaging way. It brought to mind a sort of a modern Alice in Wonderland of the psyche!... full review

Why did the chicken cross the road?

ruby hunter · June 16, 2019 certified reviewer
There was a lot of running around and physical movement on the stage. There were moments when there seemed to be a build of commotion but I never quite understood what the point of it was. The overall concept of the piece is very abstract, which I usually enjoy, but it never quite 'clicked' with me. Our showtime was supposed to be 5:30 but we didn't get let into the house until 5:50 (which may not be the show's fault). I think that is the reason why we did not have an intermission when we were su... full review

A hilarious journey of a power couple who fight the bad man, who wants to control all humans. The show started with a bang and it was non-stop fun, not just for the audience but also for the performers, who at one point couldn't stop from laughing themselves. Love shows where nobody takes themselves too seriously and where everyone has a ball together as a team! Go and see this show! You won't regret it! ... full review
