I am writing this as a Fringe alum with the understanding of how much work and effort it takes to put on a show. For that, I congratulate the cast and crew for what they accomplished. However, my overall impression was disappointment. My partner and I attended the Friday night show on 6/21. The show started twenty minutes late. If there was an award for the most elaborate and complex show at Fringe, then this one would win hands down.  The cast treated us to a pre-show outside the venue, which spilled over to the venue until it was time for the show to begin.  The cast is uber-talented and were surprisingly great vocalists, not to mention the incredible musicianship of Luke Medina, who accompanied every song on his guitar. ... full review

The Fringe has always had a few outrageous mashups in its previous nine years, but this year's tribute to the story of King Kong as told through the music of Hamilton is truly a work of art.   Adam Korenman has written truly hilarious and powerful lyrics that transform those Hamilton musical numbers into a well staged musical that is worthy of being on Broadway.... full review

The intimate space and atmosphere suited this story well as it delved into the history of the elusive figure Crazy Horse and this country's past. Told in a dreamlike state as well as prophetic, the writing soothed and progressed at a pace that felt like a trance. The acting and accents were spot on and I enjoyed the energy, vitality and truth the actor brought. There were moments so well acted and where you were so drawn in that you forgot this was a one man show. Hats off to this production.... full review

This show blew me away! Wow, Alena can sing! AND she can play instruments AND she can write! Triple threat here! I came out of the show not only feeling impressed by Alena’s many talents, but also that I was thoroughly entertained. The story was funny and had a lot of heart. What a great show! It’s everything you could hope for when attending something called a “fringe” festival. Weird and wonderful, at times it approaches a level of ridiculousness that forces the viewer to ask themselves “what am I looking at? What the hell is this about? Why can’t I stop laughing? Is this for real? This show is an absolute home run! It's smart, weird, brilliantly funny, and breathtakingly specific. The show just had so much VOICE. The acting was beyond committed and was absurdly over the top, yet still totally managed to feel truthful and human and, dare I say... subtle?
