Dear Mom, Sorry For Being A B!tch

Christine Covode’s brainchild “Dear Mom, Sorry for Being a Bitch” is a charming work comprised of outlandish anecdotes that are simultaneously hilarious, touching, and vulnerable. Covode traces her adolescence through animated tales of awkwardness and social reckonings during her middle school, high school and early college experiences. In addition to a series of crushes and quasi-boyfriends, each scene includes the presence of Covode’s mother, effectively portrayed by one of Covode’s comrades. W... full review

Wow! I am impressed with the solo show "FERTILE" performed by the talented Heather Dowling. The show is intelligibly and humorously written with many touching moments that make you laugh then cry, it takes on a big issue plaguing many women and men with a fresh perspective that isn't usually shown or talked about and the specificity of each character is brought to life by Heather's amazing acting chops. I've seen a few solo shows and none are anything close to this one. I highly recommend wat... full review

Tabletop (the musical)

Tabletop was a fun, fresh and exciting adventure into the world of role-playing games and the players who play them. The story follows the critical successes and sometimes failures of a long-term RPG gaming group, weaving the fantasy world of Vaelrun with the real-life struggles that each of the characters faced. It spotlights the dangers and delights that an immersive campaign can offer players both in game and out. It shows the audience a place where relationships, strategy, teamwork, dedicatio... full review

Tabletop (the musical)

kyle thompson · June 21, 2019 certified reviewer
I absolutely loved the show AND I thought it was a brilliantly constructed musical. “Tabletop" succeeds not only in being a spirited, fun, funny, touching, nuanced exploration of gaming culture, but also in being a human story that anyone can relate to. The show is "about" tabletop games, which I really enjoy playing, so one might suspect I'd enjoy the musical if it was sufficiently nerdy. But in reality, the show is about relationships, insecurities, and emotions we all grapple with. It’s ju... full review

Saving Cain is a human-centric multi-layered story with a tremendous amount of depth it simultaneously provides a commentary on our current geopolitical climate, dealing with the struggles of a single parent household, addiction, losing yourself in religious fanaticism, and ultimately finding your own strength and moving towards your path to peace. There is quite a bit to unpack in the exceptional show which runs a little over an hour and a half. I will do my best to summarize my thoughts. ... full review
