Shakespeare gave us Romeo and Juliette. Inspired by Romeo and Juliette, Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim gave us Maria and Tony in West Side Story. Lawrie Chiaro Smylie has given us a new and powerful love story in Let's Write a Musical now playing at the Hollywood Fringe Festival 2019.
Featuring superb direction by John Coppola, and a versatile and exuberant cast, Let's Write a Musical takes the audience on an emotional roller coaster ride mixing humor, slapstick, tenderness and cruel fat...

My impression of M.O.M.S.is very positive. I love the premise ,a woman needing mentoring in her love life. As part of her stand up routine Moms always gave advice on the do's and don'ts of love. Yevette, did a nice job setting the stage for this troubled lady who needed Mom's advice. While I understand it is a one woman show, it would be nice if she could have someone else play that character and she focused her talents on playing MOMS. I actually wanted to see more of MOMs and parts of her class...

It was very interesting what these three guys have created is unique and creative. Reminiscent of the three stooges in style but with a bit of a disgusting twist. Prepare to get wet! And also be wowed by the things they can do with their mouths. A silent act made the echo of laughter in the room more resounding....

With it's percussive chant-like poetry, Start Swimming is a call for revolution. This piece haunted me into the next day and when I tried to describe it to my mother on the phone, I choked up. This is not your usual Fringe show, nor is it for everyone, but if you can stomach a hard look at what the young people in our culture are facing today, then absolutely see this play. ...
