-For a frustrated garage rock star and lover of absurd comedy, this show totally gets me. I thoroughly enjoyed it! After the show, my head smelled like latex and, strangely, there is now nothing Sam Pocker can say that I won't agree with... hmmmmmm....

If you like musicals then you’ll enjoy this. The script is fun and very sketch comedy (which is how it began) but i dont think it could ever work outside of Fringe. Not just because of the abundance of “Meta” Fringe references but mostly because the show holds no weight outside of its heavy handed love letter to the show Gypsy. The actors commit and have lots of energy (even sometimes if they dont know where to direct it) and it was definitely a nice hour long shut-off for us to just have some ...

I really enjoyed this show! the lead actor who served as host did a great job breaking the fourth wall and connecting with the audience. There were moments that felt interactive, and I really liked the three lead characters and how different their personalities and acts of depravity were leading to the show's climax....

It's dark and edgy and there are secrets.
Powerful performances from the very top of the show. I love the director's choice to have the actors almost-but-never-quite look at each other or even at the audience. I love the "can we join in?" feeling the audience gets to experience. There were times when the audience was directly involved, times when I thought I was part of the show, times when I absolutely knew I was not, and a few times when the cast was winking at us while barreling right on thro...

This show was thoughtful, clever, educational without preaching, extremely brave and moving - but also managed to be entirely uplifting. I didn’t just get to learn more about Jannica, I learned about myself. She turns the mirror on to the audience and challenges us to look at our labels and assumptions. And I left inspired by her journey, which she masterfully made about broader themes of image and self-love. ...

Borrowing from classic Hollywood comedies like the Three Stooges and Laurel and Hardy, 45 Milligrams takes these physical comedy elements and sensibilities, drops in a heap of dark absurdity, and blends it into a weird little 35 minutes that fits right into its own category. A great piece for fringe!...

The show was well written and the composition lines and voicing were well crafted. DeRosa is one of the most promising young talents in the world of orchestration and composition. There aren’t many composers writing new operas these days. Her work is refreshing and brings a revitalization to a dying craft which is long overdue.
The staging and direction by Clymer allowed for the show to have a very balanced visual feel and the homage to composers of the past was sweet and endearing.
I lov...

Marla is an exceptionally gifted story-teller. I really enjoyed the ease of the performance. The story introduced me to a world that was completely foreign to me. Even though it was deeply personal, it still touched upon universal themes (belonging, finding your pack etc.). The balance between the humor of the first part and the darkness towards the end was admirable. ...

An incredibly moving and stylish piece performed beautifully by the two players. The play writes honestly about loss as a distilled and concentrated thing, dosed with humor that acts as a buffering agent, until it can’t anymore. Lindsay Beamish and Vanessa Peters deftly convey some gut-wrenching stuff in a way that’s relatable and even funny in this slightly removed world. And that is why one goes to the theatre. ...

What do you expect this show to be when you look at the title? That is EXACTLY what you get--and sometimes, that is enough. The moment this production began and I realized we were about to see a Klingon theatre company's take on an old Terran play, I was absolutely ready for anything that came afterwards.
And that's exactly what you get--a medieval play that seems tailor-suited to be transformed into a tale of the rise and fall of multiple Klingon emperors. The play lent itself so well to bec...

Acid Wash Love delves into relationships between men and women in a post-Me Too dating culture and poses the question many young people ask themselves: is seduction "okay" anymore? Stevens writes an excellent depiction of a modern American dude who "respects women" out of fear rather than morality. I loved the ideas that Stevens discusses and his spot on analysis of intimacy, or lack thereof, in the modern age. The timing and pacing of the script are excellent, and the actors stay engaged not onl...
