No Child Left Behind.

No Child Left Behind is a beautifully acted piece that digs deep into human prejudice and apartheid while still being witty and lively. The balance and gravity that Makha has is truly captivating to watch. ... full review

Crack Whore, Bulimic, Girl-Next-Door

The writing is exceptionally courageous, the acting painfully honest, and the story outrageously real and funny. I laughed and cried and had an existential crisis. Crack Whore needs to be seen. ... full review

Power Lunch

A smart and energetic take on Alan Ball's polemic about the dynamics of relationships, gender roles, and the battle of the sexes. It's a fast paced and breezy production that reminds its audience why live theater is still a vital showcase where thought provoking ideas (illuminated by fantastic acting and solid direction) can flourish.... full review

The Mayor's Debate of Tranquility, Nebraska

jim blanchette · June 24, 2019 certified reviewer
Jim Hanna is one of my favorite creators at Fringe, and The Mayor's Debate is maybe his best effort. And that's a very high bar. His script is witty, smart and, at moments, shocking. He's assembled a great ensemble who play their parts to perfection. The debate is ultimately secondary to the existential truths they explore. The characters bounce from political discussions to person attacks to topics that should not be talked about in civil conversation. I don't want to give anything away. Just g... full review

Scarlett Fever

paul hoan zeidler · June 24, 2019 certified reviewer
An exquisite melding of drama, dance, movement, costume and live music, this performance piece takes David O. Selznick's search for the right actress to play Scarlett O'Hara into moments I don't think the legendary producer could ever have thought of. A seamless cast under Kick Boom Theater leader John Wuchte's inventive direction certainly help, but this show really is Wuchte's awe-inspiring conception. It's been years since I've seen a costume change catapult a production into the next level-... full review

Clementine

rollence patugan · June 24, 2019 certified reviewer
Clementine was more than just about a motherhood and a 5 year-old. It was about the strength that women possess, the bonding of women over 3 generations, and the realities of compromising or even giving up on your dreams for someone else. April Wade's portrayals of each character in the show had a sense of honesty and vulnerability that kept me intrigued throughout that must be seen on a live staged production. ... full review

From the moment Janelle Lynn Randall appeared at the top of the Studio C staircase, there was magic in the air as she descended with great style and bravado to share the life, music, and oversized personality of Eartha Kitt. As the writer, creator and executive producer of the Fringe 2019 show, it’s easy to realize you are watching an incredibly talented artist perform her dream role from start to finish! ... full review

My husband and I both really enjoyed this show!! I certainly didn't know what to expect, not being a Pokémon follower back in the day, but the story, acting and singing were all a true delight. I would love to see this show expand into other theaters where more folks, young and old alike, can enjoy what can be so well accomplished without expensive stage props and costumes.... full review
