If We Run

A sweet, heartfelt play about true love and the consequences of not trusting your heart. If We Run touches on an interesting aspect of the "what if" question, and what could have been if certain decisions had changed.... full review

HELL'S KITTY

gregory blair · June 14, 2019 certified reviewer
Nicholas Tana and crew aim to deliver what you'd expect from a musical about a possessed cat: 90 minutes of unpretentious, referential silliness. And I can say without paws (sorry), for the most part, they succeed. The proceedings are buoyed by an energetic and able cast that acts like it's on catnip. So, if a show with musical numbers like "Chainsaw Kitty" sound like your thing, get yourself a ticket.... full review

This Way Yonder

A very funny, touching play that cuts to the quick and pulls no punches. It’s refreshing to a see a play that tells the truth even when it isn’t pretty! Loved the Southern Florida swamp crabbing characters. Each character was so specific, flawed and different yet relatable. They all were distinctly Southern in attitude, beliefs and cadence. There was not an empty moment even when there was no one speaking. Very moving! A great evening at the theatre!... full review

Dear Jeff: A Musical Comedy About Suicide & Domestic Abuse

stefani zabner · June 14, 2019 certified reviewer
Absolutely brilliant. A story that could easily have been a tragedy, instead brought to life via music and comedy with the ultimate message: we cannot be held accountable for the actions of others, but we *can* find self-love and forgiveness from within. Callie opened her heart to share her story, one which would easily have debilitated anyone who had gone through it. In fact, she reminds us, through the character of "Doctor" Oggie, that this type of story is entirely too common; it's a sto... full review

Simple, elegant, raw, perfectly performed and structured. A story about love and loss that isn't precious about itself, and is all the more powerful for it. The two leads do amazing work, the script is tight and real and heartbreaking, the staging is just right. Highly recommended and kudos to the cast and crew.... full review

MIL GRUS

Having seen Mil Grus perform shorter sets around Los Angeles, it was wonderful to see what they did with a full stage and an hour to themselves. I was engaged the whole time and was delighted at how everything flowed and how one piece led into another. As a Troupe, they seemed very comfortable with each other and that comfort came through as confidence and sensitivity to the audience and the energy that was in the room. So glad they made it to Fringe!!... full review
