I need more opportunities to see Matt Ritchey onstage. He's got this voguing-esk timing coupled with a deeply truthful and reactive stage presence. This ridiculous one-man-epic-fail seamlessly speaks to a number of deep rooted emotional experiences in the fringe community. Also, Jim Niedzialkowski?? Come on. So great....

THE BULLY PROBLEM is non-stop fun, with a large young cast dancing, singing and battling -- nerds vs bullies. It's pure delight to see a theatr musical with such wonderful choreography and abstract staging that also dramatizes an important message that touches all humans and (in these dreary days of conflict) gives us an inspiring evening of upbeat antics. Cheers to Mike Shapiro!...

The best Fringe show I've seen so far. A wonderfully entertaining, whip-smart distillation of the Grail mythos through a modern lens told with the help of incredible music, choreography, comedy, and dynamic performances from a diverse and deeply talented ensemble....

Tattered Capes takes the superhero formula and twists it in unexpected ways. Led by a fun cast of characters and anchored by terrific physical work, the lighter elements of the script are combatted by darker ones that you might not see coming. Much like an effective superhero story that you'd read or see....

This show is brilliant, educational, and frankly terrifying. It starts off like a shot and never loses momentum with performances from an ensemble of actors that you just do not want to stop watching, no matter how much you might hate who they are portraying. They're so good, it might make you fall in love with the figures from recent history they portray - even if you walked in fully certain you could never even like them. It makes you think, questions your assumptions and has got this revie...

This collection of short plays was absolutely phenomenal! The cast makes you laugh and cry. Michael Mullen is so honest and heartfelt, vulnerable and brave! What a talented group of actors and such incredible direction. This is a very well done show and I hope everyone can see it!...

A cast, script, and director firing on all cylinders! I absolutely loved it! A surreal journey filled with humor and inspired staging executed with assassin-level precision by the cast. This is a show that defies expectations while simultaneously exceeding them. Would see it again without hesitation! A fucking delight!...

Klingon Tamburlaine

Klingon Tamburlaine commits beyond 100% to its source material and treats the piece more seriously instead of just making it a one-note joke. The bits of humor throughout are well-timed (the dead body spraying mist might be the funniest bit I've seen so far this year at Fringe), and the actors all disappear into their various Klingon and non-Klingon roles....

Though I would happily line up for hours to watch any of the actors featured perform the roles they have here [not just Loman and Lear but also Blanche from 'Streetcar' and Martha from 'Woolf'], the play is not as successful as the acting is. ...

What a gem of a show! So playful, so funny. Great ensemble chemistry -- I'm a big fan of the minimalistic dynamic in which the cast conveys so much together while saying so little. Also loved how each performer was basically operating at 2 clown/meta character "levels" -- the clown they're supposed to be playing, and the clown performer. So glad I got to catch this....

A fast-paced, bold reimagining of the Arthurian legends, Grail Project effectively blends humor, music, adept physicality, and a self-referential twist that reminds the audience not only of the stories, but of the myth we've created around them for centuries....

Conor is a really strong improviser with a lot of stamina and energy to do an entire narrative musical by himself. I'm impressed with his ability to maintain so much information that he made up and be able to keep the story consistent throughout. Fun and lighthearted, goofy and silly, and a blast to watch if solely for his energy alone....

A tour-de-force, albeit brief, exploration of what can drive one's psyche, told within a loose framework of Science Fiction, but that's only the impulse to launch into a story of how one man's past influences his present, and possibly his future. Full of deep insights and humor, drama and whimsy.
And all done by one performer.
If you like your fiction done as a short story, concise, dense, but not overwhelming, then come on a wonderful trip !...

Absurdist, patchwork comedy with loads and loads of heart. A pastiche of theatrical tropes bouncing off each other in unexpected and hilarious ways. Resolves warmly -- touching and introspective. Also design was *tight* for a fringe show that has to load out in 15 minutes! This kind of observed nuance is rare in a fringe show -- highly recommended....

Superfun musical! I once had a cat that was like this one: the most loving cat I ever had, but it scared off my housemates so much that they had to ask me to get it out of their rooms when she was in there, as she wouldn't allow them to get near her. The tone includes elements of camp, horror, comedy, and real pathos. ...

This is just beautiful work on so many levels. It's hilarious and cutting and will send any theatre student all the way back to their first day in college where we were all, essentially, Travis. It both honors and 'sees' the stage manager [can I get a 'hell yes!'], takes solid aim at the very festival it is featured in and surprises you with its capacity to plumb emotional depths. If you are feeling rundown, on the edge or alone in this theatrical landscape, you should see this show. I promi...
