The Mayor's Debate of Tranquility, Nebraska

fritz brekeller · June 23, 2019 certified reviewer
If Christopher Guest and Stephen King had a baby, it would be the aptly titled "Mayor's Debate of Tranquility, Nebraska." This very clever, sharply written satire is well performed and probably one of the best things I've seen at this year's Fringe. Bravo!... full review

Very intense and dark show shining light down on issues of homophobia and mental health in today’s world. This show is powerful, dark, and well done. It leaves you with a lot to think about. Definitely go home and cuddle a beloved pet afterwards! But in all seriousness Don has done a wonderful job at peeling back the layers of a complicated friendship and the actors brought it to life in a way that makes you say WOW. ... full review

I have hopes that this show goes somewhere. I already a cast recording lol. I thought this was an extremely strong Fringe one person show. I loved the concept of physicalizing and naming one's anxiety and coming to terms with it. Extremely brave, at times very poignant, funny, fun, and heartfelt. I truly believe this piece would be masterful if it went through another draft, with notes from folks who are part of the theatre company here in Hollywood. ... full review

This show killed me!!! I didn’t think I would laugh this much at such silly stuff. The comedy is so simple and unexpected that it pulls you in immediately and doesn’t let you go at all. These fools are hilarious, not a weak link in the entire cast. I would definitely see it again if I could, because I feel every show is different. ... full review

Lincoln 2020

dan jh · June 23, 2019 certified reviewer
If American politics ever breaks the glass ceiling of the traveling circus of absurdity that it is today, it will look something like Lincoln 2020. Not only outrageously hilarious and indescribably brilliant, but also eerily familiar and shockingly realistic: Lincoln 2020 does not let up for a second on its fast-paced humor and witty parodying of the American political system. If not for the brief elements of science fiction and fantasy, one might almost believe this to be a portrayal of a real f... full review
