I absolutely loved this show. It is sincerely one of my favorite (top 2 for sure) of every show I've seen so far - of about a dozen this weekend. I have been recommending it to everyone I know. I had no idea what to expect and I was utterly charmed by the performance, writing, and direction. If you remember those old Mickey Rooney films, or Rooney's interviews in his older age, you'll get a huge kick out of this. GO!!... full review

I don't want to give too much away, but the show is a unique experience that is ultimately hard to describe. Some elements of humor and some of suspense really help guide the story. Not to mention the performance of Hallie which is a stand-out in every way and is it worth the price of admission just to see his scenes in the first half of the show.... full review

In Conclusion:

I would be at a loss for words if this show wasn't so moving. But it is. In fact, I could write a diatribe detailing all the nuances and specific subtleties that create a web of intricacies within the world of this piece that not only provides energetic, purposeful, calculated movements, speech, and soundscape/lighting design, but also provides a thought-provoking talking point about our government and the justice system. From characters moving in time to their speech to the exasperation of th... full review

Darcy has a great voice, great comedic timing, and the cabaret-style musical numbers (some borrowed pieces and others original) were energetic, fun, and made 40 minutes fly by fast. And Sam had some great bits too that helped enhance the show's overall relaxed, informal flair.... full review

REVENGE OF THE ROOTBEER: The Sequel To Night Of The Rootbeer

Revenge of the Rootbeer...... Where producers go to act. Hard pass. I don’t want it. Nope. What the fuck is happening? Lower your expectations. I was warned. But Why? It will never die. Lube is for quitters. We saw that. I’m not saying I regret seeing it, I’m just saying I should have stayed home with my cats.... full review

This show is a well written, well acted, hilarious take on on the audition process and what it takes to become the star of a blockbuster animated film. It was surprising and delightful and I laughed the whole way through. If I had to summarize it into a handful of words I would say it is zany, clever, and a riot.... full review

The Journey of The Little Prince

This is the hardest review I've ever written for Fringe because I'm only twenty-five and I think I'm the exact sort of cynical adult that the Little Prince would rightly deride. I tried hard to engage with the production, I really did, but I was not able to give into the sense of childlike wonder that this piece encourages. And that's... sad to me.... full review

One thing I enjoy about theater is watching the performers have fun. These ladies were having a blast up there. Fun, flawed, fully narcissistic egos can be the best characters to play, and each of these actresses went for it. It was fun to watch.... full review

Under the Table and Dreaming

This story is really adorable and I mean that in the best way. The production got me interested in reading the original fanfiction it was adapted from - actually, just before writing this review, I downloaded the pdf off Ao3 for later reading. That's pretty freaking cool. However, I think the material needed to be more heavily adapted to better suit a ninety-minute theatre piece.... full review

Two Naked Angels

Two very different, yet equally compelling pieces. "Death Unity" is funny and terrifying at the same time. A dead body lies on a gurney, waiting for the coroner while a long-time veteran of the "Death Unit," breaks in the newest employee. 'You've got to dance!" he tells him, a metaphor for coping with death while at the same time a promise of the shocking - and weirdly delightful denouement. This short play is DEEP... while at the same time hilarious and always entertaining. "Lost Voices" is... full review

Jessica Durdock Moreno is a brilliant performer and has been lighting up stages in NY, LA and Edinburgh for years in award winning pieces. And all of that talent has seamlessly translated to the writer/director chair. When you watch this you are clearly watching a gifted storyteller at work, a storyteller with her finger on the pulse of human emotions and a storyteller with as sharp a comic timing as you will find.... full review
