A thoughtful adaptation of a classic children's book that touches on love and individuality that is relayed with an almost child like simplicity which exists at the heart of the original little prince. I sometimes felt like I could've been watching a kids bedtime story craftily being performed in their bedroom with the use of flashlight puppetry, and I mean that in the best way. Irina's intention seemed to be deliberate in allowing us to tap back into that little kid psyche. The script was writt...

Goldfish is a beautiful metaphor of a play. The story of a child growing up and leaving home is well worn enough, but the depth and compassion of the writing burns throughout the seemingly ordinary story about the constantly conflicting emotions of parenthood, love and life. Dean Farell Bruggemans masterfully restrained and almost zen like direction serves to build the tension between the small cast of actors who skillfully deliver the brilliant, funny and insightful dialogue. ...

Taking a premise that could have been fumbled in the wrong hands and making it into an exceptional and poignant show that will challenge the audience to reconsider the power of political nostalgia and what it truly means to be a good fit for leadership. The show is as funny and clever as it is thoughtful. Just when you think you know where it's going there is a quick and sharp turn that leads to more delightful insight and comedy.
The cast does a great job I enjoyed all the characters and fel...

I was blown away by this show! The best show I have seen in LA in 6 years. Deeply moving, surprising, and inspiring. Even though on the surface it may look like this story is about a girl who grew up with a harsh father figure and bunch of dogs while living in the remote parts of Canada—there was something so easy to relate to in her story that resonated with probably every member of the audience....

A fast-paced and cute musical with a little bit of something for everyone! The cast and crew here really seems to be having fun with the concept and the songs are genuinely clever and fit the world so well. Spencer Frankeberger, Nick Wuthrich, Katie Dembesky, Zoe Farmingdale and Roe Moore work well together to blend a delicious concoction! (get it?) ...

So, you walk out of a show that knocked you on your ass and you try to tease out exactly what it was that made this remarkable production sing. It was a hell of a conundrum for me with Kelley Pierre's "The Same Room." With rare-air acting, directing and writing, this is one of the finest productions you will see this at this festival. Scott Golden's direction is is face paced with out losing a bit of nuance. The acting is fearless and deep with Pierre and Sheeks darting in and out of control of t...

The weakness in this show is its disjointed narrative arc and a dramatic thrust that is a tad more foible than forte.
