Raised By Wolves

Raised By Wolves is, from first moment to last, a captivating show. Marla's performance is funny and powerful, and at its heart, vulnerable. Marla does a lot with a few simple props and music cues, successfully drawing us into her unusual and fascinating upbringing. The relationships Marla illuminates are engaging, poignant, and at their best, powerfully and darkly surprising. A highly enjoyable show, and one that stays with you long after it's over. ... full review

Always Open

Always open is a pretty unique show, something the likes of I can almost guarantee you will probably not see again at this years Hollywood Fringe Festival. The show is set at 11:45 pm on a Sunday in 1994 at a twenty-four-hour dinner; you know the one I am talking about. Every town in America has one, the place you and your high school friends spent hours upon hours chatting about everything and nothing, when you had nowhere to be, and you didn't pay more than a couple of bucks for soda and app... full review

Stop reading the reviews. Click 'tickets' and buy a seat. It's the best money and time you will spend at this year's Fringe. Such a playful cast. Such a serious subject that was tackled with ridicule and tickle feathers. It's makes an important poignant statement, but care about that another day... this hour you will spend giggle. Please do not attempt to sip on any drinks or you will uncontrollably spit-take all over the poor folks in front of you.... full review

Extremely funny and effective take on the much maligned "one-person-show" concept. Matt Richey crushes it from every angle, and Jim Niedzialkowski is perfect as the Stage manager in the middle of a nightmare Tech. It is a hilarious and heart-felt piece, that exposes the egomaniacal nature and naiveté of many LA Actor-types, while also fortifying the need for, and perhaps the worth of, such ambitious/pretentious pieces. Somehow Matt Richey's script is simultaneously in on the joke while creatin... full review

Jamba Juice: The Musical

Charming, funny, and delightful musical set in a Jamba Juice. WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED TO KNOW? I have never seen Avenue Q, but I know the cast recording really well, and this has Avenue Q vibes to me. It has a self-aware cynicism over top a soft fuzzy heart.... full review

Supportive White Parents

What an elite cast! The stage was overflowing with multi talented artists! The writing from story line, dialogue, to lyrics are witty and hilarious. Being a Filipino American myself, I related a lot to Joy's story. The grass is always greener on the other side and Joy got to experience what it 'could' be like. I know of 'supportive white parents' and how being a 'best friend' to your child could be counter productive. There's a delicate balance to being too strict or too lenient. ... full review

Livin' the Dream (a journalistic journey)

I've been reading Bob's ruminations about other artists for well over a decade, maybe two. I've learned over the years that when you see Bob Leggett in an audience, chances are there is something special about the show you're about to experience. He's always been fair, gently encouraging when necessary, and honest about his thoughts on the performances he reviews. But I've never known a thing about Bob himself, until now. And WOW! ..... this guy should have been writing the SONGS, not the rev... full review

Definitely recommend. The show was not what I expected and took a fun turn in the first scene - right when you think you what this show's gonna be, Stacy flips it on you. Suddenly, you're in for a well-engineered, super fun ride!... full review

An extremely well put together, moving solo show. Marla Black's story about growing up with a pack of sled dogs, and a father who was the ultimate alpha dog, weaves together personal storytelling, TED-talk style lectures about dog pack dynamics that were insanely interesting, and well-placed act-outs of her story. ... full review

Timeheart, Thug Tunnel, Turbulence, and now... POCKETS! Oy-deloy! What a wonderful musical from the always hilarious and harmonious Robot Teammate! I devoured it like a fresh crumpet on Crumpet Day! I absolutely loved the way the big ensemble brought Crumpeton to life, and they gelled perfectly with Robot Teammate's core cast. Molly Dworsky picked at the heartstrings as the lovable Pockets. Kat Primeau channelled her inner Rachel Weisz from "The Favourite" as the ambitious duchess. Chris Bramante... full review

Pocketmon! A Parody Musical

aaron kozak · June 18, 2019 certified reviewer
The thing that bothers me the most about the parody musical craze, is that more often than not, the musicals are not parodies. They are blatant rip-offs of intellectual property, and people act like just because it's a musical - that makes it a parody. I hate it. It's unfair to the creators, and it's unfair to those playing by the rules. This is why I have to offer my sincerest congratulations to the writers and producers of Pocketmon for actually being a real parody musical. I commend you all fo... full review

I had the pleasure of seeing the show on Saturday, 6/15 and LOVED it. It was a fascinating story and all of the actors were completely engaging. How I Became A Superhero

A theatrical one act parody of a tropey super hero movie where no one has super powers. It has some really good moments with good character acting and clever bits of dialog. I found it enjoyable and an easy watch and I thought the overall quirky tone the writer established seemed to translate well with the casts performance of it. Reminded me a bit of the movie Kick-ass. Good show, go see it!... full review
