Ride or Die: The Hip-Hop Musical

An absolute gem. My favorite of the 15 fringe shows I've seen this year. Polished and performed with heart and soul. Funny, sweet, irreverent, I beamed the entire hour.... full review

In Conclusion:

Yet another example of the Puckwit Gang's unstoppable creativity. They are the masters of movement, telling stories that matter with theatric flourish and ingenuity. In Conclusion, In Conclusion bottles up two child murderers with the prosecutor and their attorney in a single, fluid space. The four of them feel like a perverse family, and the formalities of courtroom monologues feel like personal confessions. A meditation on capital punishment that ends in a bit of audience participation that... full review

Internal

Introspective, creepy, fun, disturbing, thought-provoking.... I mean, talk about a truly immersive experience! INTERNAL, especially if you let yourself really get into it, is an extremely well-produced nightmare scenario with the most terrifying monster imaginable - your own thoughts. An amazing concept executed perfectly!... full review

Ride or Die: The Hip-Hop Musical

I absolutely loved this show. I was on my feet giving a standing ovation from the moment that the cast sang their final line. If you see any show at Fringe this year, it should be this one. What Connor Hanney has put together here is inspirational, immensely fun, and dripping with incredible talent. To write is hard. To write rap, I assume is even harder. To ambitiously produce a ton of shows while also maintaining this sort of level of excellence is a trait that’s fully to be admired. I appl... full review

Chambers Stevens is one of the best playwrights to come out of the Hollywood Fringe Festival.  Since he first came to my attention with his Greasy Grimy Gopher Guts several years back, he has continued to perfect his craft, and Extraordinary is truly the cream of the crop.  Ashley McQueston is sheer perfection and makes us believe this fictional story is her own.... full review

I have done administrative work all of my life, so this play intrigued me from the start. The fact that they could present three complete plays in only 30 minutes was a major coup, and all three stories were truly relatable. Hats off to Off the Page Productions, which has presented these three amazing stories.... full review

A feat of absurd anti-entertainment that somehow also manages to be totally entertaining and thoughtful. ‘Prospective’ Ben's put-upon pitch man is an amazing creation, full of soulless pathos, an American can-do spirit, and tragic comedy. Like nothing else at Fringe, I guarantee you.... full review

A fun, provocative, and surprisingly merry show! The pace of this show surprised me. The cast was incredibly lively and seemed to be thoroughly enjoy themselves. It’s definitely campy in it’s delivery, but how else to make Hell’s Kitty come alive?! I truly enjoyed the “kitty” costumes of the cats - loved that they were the chorus and “energy” of their dance. “Nick” was awesome, perfectly playing our hero - sorry forgot to get his name from our Saturday evening 6/21 show.... full review
