What I Want to Say to You is a unique take on one woman's experience with sexual assault. I found it interesting that Em - a singer/songwriter - chose to use her music as the soundtrack to an emotionally charged dance piece, rather than create a musical out of it. As a dancer, I appreciated this because I felt that she was able to physically dive into the emotion of it and let it take over, in a way that she might not be able to if she was required to sing. I was drawn to The Rental because to the premise. As someone who creates and performs in shows that are erotic/sensual in nature, I was curious to see how The Rental would play out. Overall, Let there be Thistles was a great show. I enjoyed the concept behind the play of a God with only one remaining believer. Joshua brilliantly executed the role of a panicked God trying to make us believe in him. Some great comedic moments and well thought out beats throughout the play....
