Abie Bowman is a very intelligent comedian who enjoys tapping into the deep psyche of man to see what's funny. In Sex Lies and the KKK, there's a lot. His starting point was to interview members of the KKK as they reacted to the election of Barack Obama, which in itself gives you an idea of the boldness and determined curiosity of Abie Bowman. The Waste Land

The players in this production have created a slick, visually stunning display of art. I know that many of the actors in the Filament company have nearly a decade of experience in experimental theatre, and it pays off in Waste Land. They are on top of their game in the presentation of physical poetry and the clever use of props. Choosing a poem around which to create this piece was a definite plus, as this kind of theatre does not always work with more conventional texts. But it thrives and soa... full review

This is not a biography of Cesar Chavez, but rather Chavez is the catalyst in this meditation of how human beings can touch the lives of other human beings in profound and ever-lasting ways. Fred Blanco gives a tour de force performance, sinking his body and soul into each character he portrays: Chavez, a zoot-suit Vato, a redneck Sherrif, and a grandmother with a bad back who speaks just as much Spanish as English.
