What a great evening at the theatre! Christine Covode's coming-of-age play takes us along on a terrific ride. Covode’s work focuses on the arc of her life (thus far) and her relationship with her mom at various stops along the way. We first meet the playwright as a young pup, comfortably cocooned within the friendly confines of her home. That all changes as she wades into the murkier waters of middle and high school and concludes with the hard-earned lessons she has learned through college. ... full review

Christine has created a hilarious yet sincere and heartfelt experience that I was engaged in the entire way through. Her comedic skills are on full display in this piece as well as her clear passion for this show. The experience watching this taps into something of a universal experience of mother-daughter relationships. I’d recommend it to anyone who has a mother!... full review

I wasn't quite sure what to expect when we decided to attend the show. However, any and all doubts I held were quickly cast aside as I watched Cristine's growth from child to college student. She presented a uniquely hilarious and touching account of her journey. I laughed out loud throughout most of the play and yet was touched by her stories and the recollections of her intimate feelings. It's one of those plays that you keep thinking about days later. I can't wait to watch it again in LA... full review

Christine Covode’s breakthrough one-woman show was a stunning 60 minutes you never wanted to end. Covode’s childlike abandon throughout the show strengthens the bittersweet of growing up and presents a convincing portrait of the struggles navigating childhood. Her writing is a fresh and honest take on the topic of growing up that left the audience both in laughter and tears. Everyone should come see this at Fringe Festival— her interpretation of the relationship between parent and adolescent ch... full review

Christine Covode proves with Dear Mom, Sorry for Being a B!tch that she can do it all! The show's nostalgic plot ranges from utter hilarity to tear-jerking poignancy and Christine operates the funnest emotional rollercoaster you've ever been on while somehow riding along with you, probably doing really funny faces during the pictures. With infectious energy Christine journeys through the joy and innocence of childhood to the trying times of adolescence, and the audience gets to absorb her philoso... full review

Christine takes you back to adolescence with all its bumps and bruises in a very genuine and heartfelt performance. Her relationship with her mother is complicated and serves as a vehicle for discovering her complicated self. At once funny and sad the journey she takes you on is both personal and universal. Christine Covode's unique yet deeply relatable take on growing up causes audiences to both double over with laughter and to reflect on those important relationships we may take for granted. The focus on Christine's relationship with her mother through the years frames the show perfectly, and provides moments for both hilarity and poignancy. The show was incredibly touching, but also so so joyful and ridiculous; it made me cry, but also made me shed tears of laughter! Christine effortlessly embodi... full review

Christine's show works on the audience in layers--if something doesn't stick, something else will. Her coming-of-age approach explores the weird times, the times you'd rather forget, and how the person who often shoulders the blame / outrage for life's journey toward adulthood is often the same person who sticks around to help pick up the pieces. Our party included THREE GENERATIONS of friends and family that are still talking about the show days later. (Although that should stand alone, imagine ... full review
