About the Project
MY Womb is a solo show featuring the musical & theatrical talents of singer/actor/creator Olivia May, devised with & directed by Jessica Richmond – the show chronicles Olivia May’s modern motherhood experience as a white Muslim-American female from Fresno.
The show is produced by The Hall Theater, and is proceeded by the company’s February 2020 presentation of WOMB: an evening dedicated to the modern motherhood experience. The February showing featured 4 diverse performances and over a dozen of submitted stories from wombmxn about conception, birthing practice, and postpartum. The Hall Theater is preparing for a fall presentation “her Womb” – currently collecting stories around the birthing experience from the perspective of those who have supported a wombmxn through her birthing process.
