Saw the Slate Two Screening, Tuesday, June 25. Still processing everything that was shown. It was one beautifully crafted and told short film after another. Just as I think I've decided which one is my favorite, the other six start clamoring for my attention. It's hopeless, I can't pick one....

The shorts program was AMAZING! A wide variety of genres, but all professionally made and gorgeously shot. There was a brief Q&A afterwards which allowed me to get to know the filmmakers better.
I would recommend the other screenings to anyone who likes moves! ...

I had a great time tonight. Some great films, some great people and it all went by too fast. It's well run, super fun and it seems a great time was had by all. I know many of the people in the shorts that were screened, so I was very much looking forward to seeing them on a large-ish screen. They totally delivered! It was a really fun night with a great line-up of films, and I especially enjoyed the Q & A with the filmmakers after the screening. The Three Clubs is a cool venue where you can get a drink and hang out with friends before and after the show. ...

The shorts, the feature... what varied evenings of indie flicks. The comedies made me laugh. The sci-fi thriller pulled me in. Performances: AMAZING. The sweet one about a goldfish made me cry and then sigh with contentment. The drama about an amnesiac made me... mouth along. Because that was me. Playing the amnesiac. How can I not mention my own performance? I also love the western stand-off sound effects. Can't get enough of those.
The feature, Way Down in Chinatown, reminded me that film is art. Of course it always is, but for the most part, I focus on the craft of storytelling via film. Here, EMK uses time like a canvas.
