A beautiful summation of what it means to be a mother. April has a gift for poetic storytelling. She attacks the piece with infectious passion. She is raw, honest, touching, hilarious, heart-wrenching. You literally feel like you are transported into her living room. I'm the mother of a 9-year-old girl with autism. Learning her diagnosis and all of the years of therapies hasn't been easy. I still struggle to understand things from her standpoint. But in Magic 8 Ball, George Steeves took me on a journey into my daughter's shoes and what it's like to live in her world. The pain, the frustrations, the difficulties, the fears, the joys, the hopes. I cried so many times. We had just come from a more intense dramatic piece and ended our Fringe evening by seeing "Slashed." Perfect scheduling. It should be illegal to have this much fun watching a show. So many LOL moments. Kudos to the entire cast and crew! ... full review

Paul shines a huge light on discrimination against Asian Americans in the U.S. His piece is exactly what I love in theatre -- the opportunity to be entertained, while opening my mind up to something I had never considered before. Paul does that in the most inventive, brave way. I'll take him as my superhero any day. Well done!!!... full review
