Chekhov's THE THREE SISTERS as told by a TV family similar to the Kardashians is both witty satire and a heartfelt, yet sad, glimpse in to the vapid state of American culture. Today we look at Chekhov's writing as classic and remote from us, but Chekhov was writing popular material current for his times. KEEPING UP WITH THE PROZOROVS has the double advantage of commenting on both Chekhov and reality television while giving us a little to think about, besides. This production is a witty, well-pr...

I thought I knew my friend Denzil, but UNREEL proves that there is so much going on inside each of us that even our close friends and collaborators will never really know us. What is brilliant about this surreal solo show is Denzil's non-judgemental look into his own crowded brain to uncover a memory from the distant past. ...

"We are Traffic" takes you on all the twists, turns and side trips that a ride share pool in an Uber or Lyft might take you on if your driver were the talented and charming Jonathan Tipton Meyers. From start to finish Jonathan includes you in the experience as if you are one of his ride share clients. All the characters are so present in Jonathan's telling of the stories that this doesn't really feel like a solo show. You definitely feel a part of the "We" in "We are Traffic." With economical s...

I have seen a lot of theatre including one-person shows and this was one of the most moving pieces I have ever been lucky enough to witness. Thomas Silcott, with the aid of Jill Andre's exceptional staging and direction, has crafted a beautiful love letter to his parents. The beginning in rhymed verse segues into passages of dialogue, a reading from Shakespeare, a little stand-up bass playing and warm, simple strokes of impressions of his parents. Through various modes of expression and an am...

I loved going to a late night show at the Fringe to see a musical I didn't know based on a book I never read. The performances were beautifully crafted with some excellent musical theatre performers, especially the three leads, Caitlin Gallogly, Marc Ginsburg and Stanton Morales. I feel so lucky to have seen this show up close. There is so much money and production values put into musicals these days that it was a divine privilege to see a bare bones production. The staging by director Kathar...

Les is a master of the personal story! He brings you into his confidence early on, making you feel as if you are lucky enough to hear his full account of this adventure. The writing was clever and smart, but his performance was so natural you forget it isn't impromptu. By the end of the show I too found myself really missing Alaska! I can't wait to hear the next installment. ...
