Alex “Alpharaoh” Alfaro is an Actor, Writer, Director, Producer, and accomplished Spoken Word Artist in the L.A. poetry scene. He has performed in various venues and open mics throughout Los Angeles including Da Poetry Lounge, Sunday Jump, The Last Bookstore’s Speak Easy, and New York’s renowned Nuyorican Cafe. A Los Angeles native, he is the writer, director, and producer of SP!T, A show he originally developed at Urban Theatre Movement, his artistic home, of which he is a founding member. Alpharaoh’s latest one act “Why Won’t You Remember?” was produced in 2014 as part of UTM’s Urban Legends One Act Festival. his full length play “Vilelet” was work-shopped in the summer of 2014 at Vassar and New York Stage & Film Powerhouse Theater Festival at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York. Alpharaoh has trained as an actor with various instructors including Mark Majarian at Cypress College in Cypress, Tom Ormeny of the Victory Theatre in Burbank, Lisa Wolpe of the Los Angeles Women’s Shakespeare Theatre Company in Los Angeles, Robert Beltran of the East LA Classic Theatre Group in Los Angeles, and Cynthia Bassham at the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco, CA. Alpharaoh has studied playwrighting with playwright Seth Ez-zvi Rosenfeld, award winning playwright Zakiyyah Alexander, award winning playwright Margaret Medina, and is a proud member of the Antaeus Playwrights Lab at The Antaeus Company. Alpharaoh can be seen acting this summer in Zubberdust Players production of Our Lady of 121st Street by Stephen Adly Guirgis at the Victory Theatre Centre in Burbank, of which he is also a producer. Alpharaoh is also producing his original play “Don’t Talk About It, Sp!t About It” as part of this year’s Hollywood Fringe Festival.
