James Gleason stars in and wrote the play ACTORUNDERFIRE which was a finalist at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Festival. He based this play on his experiences on his tour of duty in Viet Nam. In addition to ACTORUNDERFIRE, James recently appeared in the New York Theatre Workshop hit play THEBATTLEFORTHEPENTAGONPAPERS. James also was in the National Tour of THEBATTLEFORTHEPENTAGONPAPERS produced by LA Theatre Works. He appeared as H. L. Menkin in the L.A. Theatre Works National Tour of THEGREATTENNESSEEMONKEYTRIAL with Ed Asner. James also appeared in the National Tour of the L.A. Theatre Works production THECAINEMUTINYCOURT-MARTIAL as well as the L.A. Theatre Works productions of TWELVEANGRYMEN and BROADWAYBOUND at the Skirball Center in L.A. He appeared in the U.S. premiere of David Hare’s STUFFHAPPENS at L.A’s Mark Taper Forum and starred as Jack in the THEWEIR at L.A’s Geffen Playhouse. He starred regularly as Jimmy McQuinn on the series THEDAYSANDNIGHTS OF MOLLYDODD among countless Guest Star roles on other series including MEN OF A CERTAINAGE, FASTFORWARD, SARAHCONNERCHRONICLES and FRASIER. Film credits include AMERICANDREAMZ, MOTHER with Albert Brooks, REVENGE OF THENERDS and Gene Wilder’s THE WORLD’S GREATESTLOVER. New York Broadway and Off-Broadway theatre credits include: THEGUYS IN THETRUCK, SPEED-THEPLOW, CURSE OF THESTARVINGCLASS, and THEMISER. He played Billy in STREAMERS and Mickey in HISTORY OF AMERICANFILM at the Mark Taper Forum. He created the role of Charlie Brown in the original production of the musical SNOOPY and can be heard on the cast C.D. James is an L.A. DRAMACRITICSCIRCLEAWARDWINNER for his performance in Interact Theatre Company’s production of COUNSELLOR-AT-LAWANDSTATE OF THEUNION. While a member of the Musical Theatre Guild in L.A. he played leading roles in many of their productions including: 1776, MERRILY WE ROLLALONG, WHERE’S CHARLEY, THEAPPLETREE, BELLSARERINGING and THERAINMAKER. James is married and makes his home in Los Angeles. CA. He and his wife, Laura, have a daughter, Kate, who recently graduated from American University in Washington, D.C. and a son, Bryan, currently a student at Manhattanville College in Purchase, N.Y.
