My overall impression
This show really packs an emotional wallop. It’s a well-written, emotionally complex character study full of unexpected humor and terribly sad and painful moments. Gary Rubenstein skillfully brought a very natural lightness and simplicity to a role that could have become overwraught or melodramatic; Rachel Boller travelled from a controlled, angry, self-punishing place to a far more compassionate one, but in a very interesting, personal way, with nuance. Superb directing of an amazing script, with two very fine actors.
