So I just sort of happened into the theatre to see “Glennie and Maple.” I was walking by not planning to see a show at that particular moment but, hey, this is Fringe. Why not?
And you know what? I was rewarded. This is a keenly observed relationship piece.
It is quiet, considered and features many small moments of truth and honesty about the nature of people and relationships.
“Glennie and Maple” is not necessarily a mind-blowingly original take on these issues but the two performances deserve to be seen.
The acting is spot-on and I really felt for the characters even though my time with them was fairly brief.
This production will make you smile. It will make you feel. These are two human beings in front of us. Struggling and fretting and grasping at the straws of love and connection like we all do.
