My overall impression
One of the best nights in the theater I have had in a long time. It’s a huge delight to know right from the start of a show you are in expert hands. Mr. Ratner’s gorgeous voice and rich spirit embraces his audience from the get go and with relaxed virtuosity wraps us in a tale that is at once, witty, quirky, whimsical, and deeply moving. Weaving deftly through the often wacky scenes of his highly engaging journey from wide-eyed son of an ad-man to revered voice-over veteran, Mr. Ratner never bows to sentimentality but uses his wide range of talents (including a great riff on his blues harp) to entertain and enlighten. Don’t miss it!
