What I liked
While being edgy and graphic, the play doesn’t stray over the edge into indecency or bad taste. In fact, it stays squarely in the realm of contemporary romantic comedy.
There are many laughs, and psychological recognitions that make it worthwhile.
What I didn't like
The loss of cellphone battery charge as the dramatic crux might seem a bit stagey, but it is also appropriate to a show whose central point if the inadequacy of phone hookups.
My overall impression
The show is well written and very well performed.
The two main characters are nicely defined, with an interior depth, which only shows itself slowly over the course of the play. And as it takes a certain time to determine whether the other “best friend” characters are actual protagonists or projections of their hosts’ interior dialog, it works to the overall advantage of the piece.
