My overall impression

I am writing this as a Fringe alum with the understanding of how much work and effort it takes to put on a show. For that, I congratulate the cast and crew for what they accomplished. However, my overall impression was disappointment. My partner and I attended the Friday night show on 6/21. The show started twenty minutes late. We were asked by a cameraman taping the show to do takes of clapping and doing standing ovations before the show even began. Never once were we asked if it was okay to have our likeness on film, nor were we informed that being filmed would happen before and during the show. I felt this was totally unprofessional. The show itself had awesome themes that were executed with clichés and tropes that were overly simplified and diluted; playing to obvious audience approval and interpretation. I found the final sketch to be the most compelling, but it too got lost in the streamlining of its narration. Art is very subjective. So, this is not written to be a deterrent from seeing this production. Go see it and have your own experience.
