This was a show where I was super confused for the first half, but enjoyed myself nonetheless. Then something clicked in my brain, I got the game of it, and wanted to shout “GENIUS” at the top of my lungs. I love moments like that.
It’s clear early on that SOMETHING is up, and it’s only a matter of time before the play belches up all the clues you need like a krill-stuffed beluga whale.
The performances are appropriately over-the-top, the situations are absurd, and the abrupt shifts of scene, focus, and action gave me the feeling that I had just witnessed a mad genius explain prophecy, only the mad genius has also been smoking crack and the prophecy was told to the crack-smoking mad genius by the Kool-Aid Man.
This show is fucking bonkers and I loved every second of it.
Long live Sam Mobean.

My overall impression
This show filled me with as much laughter as it did existential horror. Hey, I was also surprised to find that the show which includes a jarring cutaway of horny teenagers making out is also the one that gave me nightmares about the futility of existence.
