What I liked

I loved everything – honestly. From the writing to the acting to the directing to the set design, everything was on-point and incredibly impactful. I especially loved the set design – it was beyond impressive especially for a Fringe show (and the time constraints that entails). The colors were stunning and cheerful. I felt transported. I also thoroughly enjoyed that there were moments (including the pre-show) involving the audience without putting anyone on the spot or relying on participation. It felt immersive without ever being uncomfortable. The rapid-fire comedic timing from both the writer and the actors meant I hardly went 20 seconds without laughing. The character work was absolutely phenomenal – most notably from Luke Medina, Meg Cashel, and Veronica Tjioe, though the entire ensemble blew me away.

What I didn't like

It was flawless! Don’t change a thing.

My overall impression

What an absolute delight. “The Last Croissant” was one of the most captivating pieces of theatre I’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing. The writing was gut-bustingly funny while remaining real, natural, and poignant. The acting – and specifically comedic timing – was spot-on. The direction was outstanding and the set design transported me to another world. I left the theatre feeling truly inspired as an artist and human. This is a can’t-miss show. I hope everyone sees “The Last Croissant!”
