What I liked

Script, set, the teabag monologue, nods to various theatrical styles.

What I didn't like

Cast is talented, but sometimes it seems like the cast & director lost something in communication with the playwright. A few jokes that get a bit trampled, a few moments that felt like they deserved more weight/space. It wasn’t often and it wasn’t detrimental, but worth noting! The breakneck speed that this piece is performed at is mostly effective, but sometimes there are unintended consequences.

My overall impression

Absurdist, patchwork comedy with loads and loads of heart. A pastiche of theatrical tropes bouncing off each other in unexpected and hilarious ways. Resolves warmly — touching and introspective. Also design was tight for a fringe show that has to load out in 15 minutes! This kind of observed nuance is rare in a fringe show — highly recommended.
