It was definitely an excellent choice in allowing for audience participation in the mock voting process near the end of the show. I only saw the version where Lincoln won, but I hear that there is an entirely different ending for the “other guy”. I was also really impressed with the dual projection of the NBC and Fox news channels throughout the run of the show, which added a powerful flare of comical realism. It was very interesting to see the comparative interpretations of history running side by side with each other, between Lincoln’s 19th century mindset and our modern 21st century perspectives. It definitely shows how far we have come as a country, which I think added a powerful reminder of how much potential we still have. Even though Lincoln 2020 presents a very necessary critical view of today’s America, it also presents a sense of nostalgic pride for how far we have progressed and how much more we can still achieve.

My overall impression
If American politics ever breaks the glass ceiling of the traveling circus of absurdity that it is today, it will look something like Lincoln 2020. Not only outrageously hilarious and indescribably brilliant, but also eerily familiar and shockingly realistic: Lincoln 2020 does not let up for a second on its fast-paced humor and witty parodying of the American political system. If not for the brief elements of science fiction and fantasy, one might almost believe this to be a portrayal of a real futuristic election.
