What I liked

I loved the stage pictures they created. The sequence where Grayson found herself separated from the group was an early highlight. The music was fantastic and set the mood. The puppet near the end looked like something out of The Dark Crystal. The way everyone played with the audience was stellar. The use of the stage, particularly when Jeremy pops up at the top. The fun and dedication that was shown through their outfits and their camaraderie was infectious!

What I didn't like

At one point when the lights were off, I found the white light from the headbands to be too bright and I couldn’t look at the stage.

My overall impression

Having seen Mil Grus perform shorter sets around Los Angeles, it was wonderful to see what they did with a full stage and an hour to themselves. I was engaged the whole time and was delighted at how everything flowed and how one piece led into another. As a Troupe, they seemed very comfortable with each other and that comfort came through as confidence and sensitivity to the audience and the energy that was in the room. So glad they made it to Fringe!!
