A very entertaining and thought-provoking play. I was challenged to pay attention and really think about each character and their purpose. Each had a specificity to the story line that I found to be really interesting to figure out. The characters one-by-one were unique and memorable. As they connected and disconnected from another throughout the play, it made for an interestingly developing plot. I enjoyed watching the characters try to understand their existences while I myself was trying to understand where the story line would end up. A very clever premise made for a really different and imaginative experience. ...

Have you ever pondered this philosophical question that is the title of this play? By the end of the play, you may or may not be satisfied by the inevitable answer. Along the road, you will be presented with words played by individual characters that try to find meaning to their existence and purpose. There are the multiple "The's" that compete for importance, Cross, the verb which without, there would be no question. But, it's the Chicken and the Road whose intersection make this play the entertaining story of meaning and purpose that will leave the audience with the simple answer that has plagued man sin...

"How can a play about words in a joke make me feel things?" I asked, not knowing the journey I was about to embark on. This is a deceptively deep, emotional, and funny show about finding meaning, accepting yourself and others, and being ok with being yourself despite how others might see you. If you ever wanted to think about the horror of existence through the lens of comedy, this is the show to see. ...

An existential trip through words, Why Did The Chicken Cross The Road is an excellent example of what a Fringe show can be. Silly, absurd, intriguing, and ultimately surprisingly emotional, the actors are all committed to the strange world they inhabit as they trust the deftly written script made up of those very words....

So when I read the title I was highly sceptical about this body of work and my willingness to see it. Let's just say I'm glad I did. The show was amazing, never thought I would laugh so hard from a play called "Why Did The Chicken Cross The Road". They turned this old joke into a new comedy that would be worth watching twice or more! ...

This is a zany, funny show with lots of laughs! A large cast puzzles, banters and argues with each other over the meaning and purpose of certain words.
This is a very smart show. Very well-written with a great cast. I loved it!...

I enjoyed this performance immensely. I love word play and intellectual banter and nuance and puns and innuendo and word play. As a result, I was thoroughly entertained. Well-written and uniquely unusual....
