What I liked
The characters were exquisitely drawn and superbly performed. It was delicious to watch them match wits and swap stories. In their fleeting emotional moments, I felt for them so deeply. Though a period piece, the profound script speaks truth to the zero sum choices women continue to face today.
What I didn't like
I craved a stronger arc for Blaze, or something she needed from the Duchess, to up the stakes of their meeting.
My overall impression
Perfection. From the zingy one-liners to the raw depth of these beautifully portrayed women, to the costumes to the brief burlesque numbers.
