What I liked
Engaging script, beautiful musical score and realistic acting are all integrated for beautiful storytelling through musical theater.
What I didn't like
This musical composition diamond can be polished to sparkle more with vocal coaching of some singers. Also, I felt in a more relaxed post-Fringe time environment a few songs could have a more leisurely tempo to increase intelligibility of the words and allow for more tonal support through better musical phrasing. Slow down to help us better experience it all and avoid tonally challenged chatter. The excellent story and beautiful melodies should soar … and sing!
My overall impression
Wow! What a rich story with beautifully composed music realistically enacted by talented actors. What a find to have the lead actor be a handsome transman who perfectly portrays a romantic transman relationship. Bravo for appropriate casting that enhances the story to be more real and heartfelt. This musical diamond (composition) in the rough (performance) may be burnished brighter for a deserved post-Fringe future. Script and score are core for this moving story with a big heart.
