The continuation of the story with all participants staying on stage. I did not get how important that element until the play progressed. I was as interested in the reaction of each woman to the specific story as I was to the story being told.
What I didn't like
I loved the singing, so that has to stay…I loved the voices and the story length, so it cannot be shorter. I guess I was curious if these stories were these women’s or whether some were acting someone else’s story out??
This suggests to me that there may have been a moment or two when I wondered….is this this woman’s story or another’s?? I cannot fault the speakers, so may just have had a moment where this became unclear to me.
My overall impression
I loved this piece. I felt for every woman in every situation, even those that were not personally mine. I also felt that each woman was a representation of the other, and the very way that each woman listened to the other brought elements of cohesion, multi-faceted connection and riveting interest to each story. I was moved by each, at times to tears, to silence, to humility and to the desire to do more to support women, all women of the world. I came in a curious audience member, I left a sister more committed to helping all women transform lives, as these women did, as all women can and do!!
