What I liked

“Tillie,” played by Los Angels native Bree Wernicke, interprets the role of a self-aware personality with vitality, emphasizing the worth of her gender amid horrendous odds. Catherine Lidstone, cast in the role of “Samira,” communicates a maturity beyond her scripted teenage years as she ponders each step in a chaotic marriage under Islamism.

What I didn't like

Director Linda Slade, in an effort to trim the script to 50 minutes, incorporates a fast pace for the transitions which, for some, makes it difficult to follow the narrative.

My overall impression

Two monologues directed at the audience from storytellers who lived 175 years apart. The repression of women continues from 17th century England to today in Syria.
