I have not had so much fun in a long time. These guys were just great. I sit all day hacking boring software, these guys provided a rich and diverse emotionally intense therapy. They were just great. 8 of the 10 actors were really fantastic. I later realized that the two unimpressive people were the musicians. I did not notice the music at all, which is in fact what the musicians are supposed to do, just be supporting actors, and they did that very well indeed. What a riot. The serial killer was creepy, the government official was pompous, the fat lady was an intense personality. I loved the woman who liked death. The Chinese pimp was the epitomy of a pimp. The drug dealer Sammy was not very noticeable, but afterwards I think... full review

Musicals are not my thing, and unfortunately Rehab! The Musical did not change my opinion. The songs and performers were hit or miss, the staging and scene transitions were awkward, and the entire thing never really seemed to come together. Maybe it was the space itself that made this production so awkward, with cast members walking by the audience constantly. It could have also been that the songs were a mix of good, bad, and/or contrived. Perhaps it was that the most redeeming quality of this show was “Hot Nurse #2.” Still, the production seems rough and some of the choices were off, such as buying elaborate costumes but using plastic storage boxes for seats on stage. Rehab! The Musical has a lot of potential, but that potential was not re... full review

Patrick Gelinas' concept for Rehab! The Musical is interesting at its best. The idea and concept opens the door for a compelling and thought provoking musical, but the Chaos I witnessed onstage was nothing of the sort. Helene Udy's choppy and misguided direction leaves much to be desired. The stage at the Gleeson is rather large, but the miserably painted and poorly rigged backdrops cut the stage in half, giving the performers very little space to work with. Jill Laub's choreography was messy, and not well executed. Bones Malones and Gelinas' score was the shows best factor, but a poorly musically directed cast, led by Marijke Van Niekerk let the comedy in the songs fall completely flat, which perfectly matched the pitch of most the... full review

Few things change one's life like Rehab: The Musical has done. If it were not for this I do not believe I would have the strength to get up in the morning... particularly on Monday mornings. After a long weekend with friends, if ya know what I mean. The choreography of the show was probably the best part, along with the hot nurses in a close second, if not a tie. However I don't believe in ties so if I had to break the tie I would probably put the choreography first, the nurses second, and everything else third. ... full review

I am delighted that I came out to see Rehab. For the duration of the play I found myself transported to a dark yet slightly whimsical world, far far away from the everyday grind. Kudos to the cast and crew of Rehab for creating an intoxicating world in which the audience can journey alongside unique and interesting characters. I particularly found the lead Michelle to be truly captivating. My boyfriend and I found the portrayal of her character to be empathetic and compelling. Across the board acting was solid at least, and utterly mesmerizing at best - and most actors in Rehab fall into this last category. The characters who surfaced at destination Rehab itself were an eclectic - sometimes sad, sometimes comedic - who were a pleas... full review
