What I liked
Writing, directing, actors, the concept of the story overall
What I didn't like
This is a venue thing, but there’s an electrical outlet pole (or whatever) that runs right through the projector images which was often distracting when the projections were shown.
My overall impression
It took me a couple days to let this piece sit and resonate. This piece speaks on something that no one seemingly quite understands: what exactly is art? Someone can get so much out of this show or so very little, but for me, it was definitely the former. It’s such an exhilarating ride from start to end, as I didn’t know much about Chris Burden, but I absolutely loved the avant-garde element to the storytelling, and the performances were fantastic. The writing and directing were very strong and kept me engaged. It keeps me thinking constantly days afterward about the meaning of art—what exactly is art?
