2 writer-performers create a vivid 3D spectacle in a tiny space. They play 2 children who in turn play an array of female personas for their unseen male captor/tormentor. We the audience are ourselves invisible voyeurs, but we are also the prisoners along with the girls, and can't leave or look away. We root for their escape, imaginary or real. The opening may be too experimental for some people's tastes, but if you know a little about the play going in, it all makes terrifying sense, without spelling out the abuse too literally....

Unique, surreal and dark. Wigs and hangers coming to life, bodies moving in and around a plexiglass box, and the invisible abusive man behind the garfield sheets....the choreography of this show really stayed with me....

Wonderfully conceptualized and performed by Beamish and Vitiello. A visually captivating and emotionally complex meditation on female sexuality, male-female power dynamics, and sexual abuse. The actresses put on a number of wigs and get in our heads in all kinds of ways. Dark and funny and disturbing--and well worth seeing!...

Wigs' conceit, along with its stars' agility, allows it to function not only as a satisfying character study--impressive enough for its fifty-five minutes--but also as a study of the ways in which the very act of character-creation can be weaponized, mocked, undermined, idolized, and transcended....

This is a totally original, haunting, and emotionally moving work. I'm still worried about the fate of the characters! The physicality of both actresses is so interesting and compelling. Loved that we got a peek into their process in the program as well. Highly recommended!...
