What I liked

Joanne Hartstone has mounted one of the most impressive and moving pieces I’ve ever seen at the Fringe. Her well-researched piece is a nostalgic history of the golden age of Hollywood, and the way it would lure dreamers in and chew them up. Filled with dazzling musical numbers belted from Hartstone’s rich pipes, the show transports you back 80 years to a time familiar yet distant. Staged in true theater fashion with a simple but exhilarating set atop the titular Hollywood sign, Hartstone is making a most exciting single-creator vision, well worth the price of admission.

My overall impression

This piece is what the Fringe is all about. Original storytelling, a talented voice, a lovable protagonist, a succinct and fascinating story. Would highly recommend to any audience, teen to retiree. It’s that good.
