YOU MUST SEE THIS KILLER ONE-WOMAN SHOW ! Australian actress Joanne Hartstone has written a brilliant biography of a fictional actress who goes through the mill of golden-age Hollywood. Hartstone is a wonderful actress and singer; her American accent is flawless (I did not have a clue she was Australian til her final post-show announcement). Heartbreaking story of a beautiful, great singer told by an agent she is not beautiful enough or a good enough singer, narrated from the top of the Hollywood sign. This show is a gift, it is history mixed with sobering observations on the dangers of high expectations that can never be met. This is a woman who had dreams. Hollywood doesn’t cater to dreams though. It creates a beautiful piece of theater that transports the audience to another era with style and grace. As the tale unfolds, there are beautiful renditions of classic tunes. Some you will recognize, some may be new to you.... full review
