What I liked
The writing was sharp and paced perfectly. Each actor embodied their role extremely well, every one of them had a powerful entrance that immediately signaled to the audience who they were and they maintained that energy and commitment throughout. Each new character was a fascinating surprise as more and more sides of the protagonist were revealed: an effectively conveyed message of the complexity of doubt every person carries with them.
What I didn't like
As a teacher, I just wish every student I’ve ever had was there to see it with me and hear its message.
My overall impression
Short in length but big on ideas, this is a wonderful piece that is both intensely specific and universal in scope and point of view. This show should be touring to every middle and high school in LA. A serious, empathetic message told with a light, comedic touch. It strikes an incredible balance. Rarely have I heard so many lines in succession making me laugh and feel sad at the same time. A beautiful, complex one act tailor-made for a long life of entertaining people as it assures them they are not alone.
