Like one of the zanier works by Phillip K Dick, the show is a preposterous science fiction romp that can quickly switch from serious and thought provoking to laugh out loud silly.
The whole cast is great, and sound each individually better than ever (already an accomplishment). The live music is also great, and when paired with the overall passion and clip of the performance, makes for an energetic hour that flies by.
There are few outright scene changes – but variance in the songs, mood, and even type of stage movement aptly address what might otherwise be a problem.
What I didn't like
Arguably a couple of the cliche characters are immediately a little too dynamic. The dynamism is ultimately great, of course, but it makes some of the early jokes and gags feel a bit off.
My overall impression
A brisk and hilarious show that makes the best of cliches and still regularly surprises.
