Their heart is in the right place, but spoofing a spoof (and hoping the audience joins in a la "Rocky Horror Picture Show") couldn't be trickier. I could see how this looked like a laugh-riot as an idea, but even with a few laughs, the evening just doesn't work. It's a series of bits (some -- sorry to say -- painfully misguided) waiting for something to happen. What a shame! I was SO rooting for this show....

Every character in this production is aware that they are in a satire and they take every possible opportunity to give the audience a wink to make sure that everyone knows how “clever” they’re being. This works once or twice, but when done ad nauseam, it gets old quickly. In addition, the changes made to place this production into modern-day were heavy-handed and didn’t work with the parts that weren’t updated.
