A performer so comfortable in their own skin with such passion to share with their audience.
What I didn't like
The woman next to me spent the first 10 minutes ignoring the show and circling OTHER shows in her fringe guide!? What …the actual.. fuck? apart from being frustratingly distracting for me as an audience member,.. SOOOO offensive to the performer in such a small and intimate setting – Is your scheduling of other shows REALLY more important that…THIS… the present moment… this show… you’re currently in????
Kudos to the performer – after 10 minutes the guide was closed and said audience member was laughing and crying with the rest of us. Just a testament to the power of the piece.
My overall impression
Thoroughly enjoyable and moving piece. From the moment you walk into the theatre you feel at ease with the performer and excited for the journey ahead. Johnathon Tipton Meyer eases you in with delightful and hilarious anecdotes before taking you into the darker areas of humanity – some i was thankful for the reminder, and others shocked that I had been so unaware. The piece really highlights how we should value our connection to, and faith in, each other and how even the simplest things in life can provide such joy and positivity. Thank you for the ride.. and y’know.. I guess I really SHOULD give Coldplay another chance ..
